Art can help you exhibition 2020

The Exhibition of Paintings, Performances, and Artistic Workshops

“Art can help you”

Due to the advent of leading-edge communication technology, our life becomes more rapid and convenient than it once was in the past. Ironically, people nowadays turn out to be lonelier and more secluded; some may even be outcasted. This phenomenon can result from both external and internal problems of individuals. However, looking at the wider picture, they are all affected by the unhealthy and unsustainable social development.

The Art Can Help You Project is the project to create a space for an art to help connect new-generation artists to people in the society. Artists will share their artistic views and experiences without ethnic, religious, language, or cultural barricades. It is believed that art is a powerful medium to truly establish a connection between humans and foster awareness among people in order to drive society sustainably.

Artist

This exhibition will also feature the Japanese graffiti artist, Maika Kobayashi, whose works have been presented in many countries around the world. Most of her pieces of art are inspired by such traditional Japanese culture as temples and kimono.

In this event, she will display the series of pictures titled “Earthbound” which depict an art as a tool to liberate one’s true self from whatever imprisons us. She will pass the precious experiences of hers forward to the people.

The Thai artist who participates in this exhibition is Pornpilin Tancharoen from The Nose Thailand, the cooperative group between the blind and the sighted people using olfactory and tactile senses to communicate to each other. Under the concept, “Everyone can create art,” all audiences will be able to appreciate the artistic beauty using their heart.

Purpose

Art can extend understanding and awareness of social issues to more people. ”Art can help you” project is regarded as the role of art in society, and Thai and Japanese artists launch to the world. We will make the opportunity to introduce the Social×Art action Today around the world. This title is the answer for ” No one leave behind” as key concept of UN SDGS.  The first action is ASEAN Summit closing event as Chaopraya River side Festival at Lhong1919 on November 9th and 10th, 2019.
